Since 1962, the Association Française des Sclérosés En Plaques, recognized by public utility, and approved by the Ministry of Health, federates people with multiple sclerosis or affected by the disease.

Relayed by its 115 departmental delegates, the AFSEP offers listening and support to the sick and their caregivers, informs them, represents them and defends their interests, promotes the creation of structures and services of reception and care for the sick people. more dependent, form actors care and support either home or in a specialized institution, informs about the disease including its quarterly magazine "Health Factor", participates in research in social sciences: it affects all of its Resources for Actions for People with Multiple Sclerosis, finances, through its Scientific Committee on Scientific Research Projects or Social Sciences, to advance knowledge about the disease and improve the lives of patients.
