In October 2014, Aïda Younès Frangié died in 17 days following a blinding leukemia. Her 15-year-old daughter, Léa Moukanas, tries to get involved in several associations that aim to improve the quality of life of patients in the hospital. Without success: we explain to the girl that she is too young.
Léa Moukanas then decides, in January 2015, to create her own association, to which she gives the name of her grandmother, to allow young people under 18 (among others) to engage in favor of others. children and young people of their age, who do not receive visits from young people to the hospital.
It is thus the first association in France that allows high school students to intervene in hospitals and the first association created by high school students in Europe.
We have three main missions:
1 / Accompany children and adolescents with cancer: as they get sick, by going to the two places where they spend the most time during the week, in the hospital and at home.
2 / Financing Medical Research: on childhood and adolescent cancers, via projects validated by a medical and scientific council.
3 / Sensitize young people: to illness and commitment, through interventions in colleges, high schools, universities.
No matter how old, young people can get involved!
